Washed is a lifestyle blog authored by me (Amber) and Francisco, a Southern California-dwelling couple, and is intended to be a space to document an attempt to wash ourselves. By “wash ourselves,” we mean that we hope to clean out every aspect of our lives: our belongings, our interests, the people we associate with, the places we go, the products we use, the way we waste and dispose, what we eat, the experiences we gather. The point is that this blog should hold us accountable for washing away the unnecessary stuff and allowing us the space to partake in a lifestyle that is productive, practical, healthy (for both ourselves AND the earth), and aware, and yet still beautiful, interesting, and even boisterous at times, full of hilarity and adventure. As an added layer, we hope to explore the community of individuals, companies, and brands that partake in the movement toward a more mindful world through innovative, earth-and-people-friendly production, practices, and philosophies.
What Washed is NOT, is an instructional blog. Though we are absolutely delightful, Francisco and I are not any more knowledgeable than anyone else as to how to approach living mindfully and sustainably. This is simply a record of our process and a place to engage, discuss, explore. But we do hope to come to the conclusion that an average person CAN live in a way that is a little bit friendlier to the world and themselves by engaging in some research and keeping an open mind.
